Anxnar Ridge and Courthouse Rock at Peak Fall Color
Red River Gorge is a place of year-round beauty, but during peak fall color, it transforms into something truly spectacular. Capturing it from the air offers a rare and breathtaking view of this Kentucky treasure—especially over landmarks like Anxnar Ridge and Courthouse Rock.
Using a high-resolution drone, I photographed and filmed the Gorge when the forest canopy was lit up in vivid shades of red, orange, and gold. The contrast of fall foliage against the rugged sandstone cliffs made for some of the most visually striking footage I’ve captured.

From above, the landscape of Anxnar Ridge unfolds like a painting—waves of color stretching across the terrain with Courthouse Rock rising dramatically in the distance. The aerial perspective reveals details often hidden from view on the ground: the symmetry of tree lines, the depth of valleys, and the sheer scale of these geological features.
Shooting in Protected Natural Areas
Drone operations in natural environments require both experience and respect. As an FAA Part 107 certified drone pilot, I always fly safely and within legal boundaries. Special care is taken to avoid disrupting wildlife, hikers, or protected areas—especially during busy fall visitation.
